There are lots of hard times in America right now and “Hard Times” is a song about hard times.  There are songs about rough relationships, there are songs about overcoming adversity.  It’s rare than an artist creates a beautiful song that is simply a description of life being hard.

This song was also recorded by Baby Huey and the Baby Sitters on The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend (which was produced by Curtis Mayfield).  Baby Huey’s version has slightly different lyrics - also worth checking out.
